Diggory Cottage is one of a pair of traditional semi-detached cottages, probably dating from the 18th century. It has been tastefully refurbished, including central heating and secondary double-glazing, and comes highly recommended by previous guests.

The front door leads directly into the cheerfully decorated living room with seating for six, a wood burning stove, a large flat-screen TV, a DVD player, radio and CD player. Off the living room is a large ground-floor bedroom with a double bed (4ft 6in) and ample hanging and storage space. It has an en-suite shower room with shower, loo, and basin, plus a washing machine and tumble dryer. Also off the living room is an extremely well-equipped kitchen/dining room with a gas cooker, fridge, dishwasher, freezer, microwave, and plenty of workspace and storage. There is a dining table with six chairs.

Upstairs the attractive main bedroom has a 5ft double bed and plenty of hanging and storage space. The second bedroom is a small twin with a grand view of the Purbeck Hills. The bathroom has a bath with shower attachment, screen and curtain, basin and loo.

Behind the cottage is a patio with a shingle surface, garden furniture and a barbecue. Stone steps with handrail (straight but quite steep) lead to a garden with shrubs, loungers, and more shingle. The garden has a gate leading to a meadow and public footpath giving access to the Purbeck Hills behind the cottage.

Diggory is a delightful cottage, spacious, comfortable and brightly decorated. It is in East Street, the main Corfe to Swanage thoroughfare, within five minutes’ walk of the centre of the village.
