Diggory Cottage is one of a pair of traditional semi-detached cottages, probably dating from the 18th century. It has been modernised and refurbished throughout, including central heating and secondary double-glazing.
The front door leads directly into the cheerfully decorated living room with seating for six, a wood burning stove, a large flat-screen TV, a DVD player, radio and CD player. Off the living room is a ground floor bedroom with a double bed (4ft 6in) and ample hanging and storage space. It has an en-suite shower room with shower, loo, and basin, and a washing machine and tumble dryer. Also off the living room is a kitchen/dining room with a gas cooker, fridge, dishwasher, freezer, microwave, and plenty of workspace and storage. There is a dining table with six chairs.
Upstairs the main bedroom has a 5ft double bed and plenty of hanging and storage space. The second bedroom is a small twin with a grand view of the Purbeck Hills. The bathroom has a bath with shower attachment, screen and curtain, basin and loo.
Behind the cottage is a patio with a shingle surface, garden furniture and a barbecue. Stone steps (straight but quite steep) lead to a garden with shrubs, loungers, and more shingle.
Diggory is a delightful cottage, brightly decorated throughout. It is in East Street, the main Corfe to Swanage throughfare, and within easy walking distance (5 minutes) of the centre of the village. It is priced to offer a most comfortable base for a lovely holiday at a competitive price.
