Stone Lodge has recently been fully refurbished and modernised. It is ideally located close the village Square and the village shops, pubs and the steam railway. The sitting room, kitchen, dining room and bathroom are on the ground floor. There are two bedrooms upstairs, with a separate toilet and basin.

On the ground floor the front door to the cottage leads into a very small lobby and then the sitting room which is cosily furnished with ample seating, an inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove, and traditional exposed stone walls. There is gas central heating. Beyond the sitting room is a fully equipped galley kitchen and a small attractively furnished dining room. Beyond the dining room is the bathroom with vintage “slipper” style bath, a “rain” shower, a basin and a loo. Upstairs the main bedroom has a traditional brass double bedstead, 4ft 6ins with an excellent mattress, while the second bedroom has full size bunk beds big enough for large teenagers or adults. Both rooms have hanging and drawer space.

Doors from the kitchen and the dining room both lead to a small attractive enclosed garden with a raised patio, garden furniture, and a spectacular view of the Castle.

Stone Lodge is a delightful cottage and probably one of the oldest in the village. It is very well situated being near so many of the village amenities, and is especially cosy in winter. Any traffic noise is much reduced by secondary double glazing.
