THE ISLE OF PURBECK
is an unspoilt paradise in south east Dorset.

Corfe Castle at Night
You will discover beautiful countryside and wonderful safe, sandy beaches at Studland and Swanage where you can swim, windsurf or sail. There are smaller rocky coves, and a particularly mild and agreeable climate makes the area one of the sunniest places in the country each summer and autumn.

Crabbing in Swanage
The coastline has been designated a World Heritage Site and is part of the South West Coastal Path. Wildlife of all sorts abounds: the RSPB reserve at Arne is about seven miles from Corfe Castle; a variety of animals roam undisturbed at Durlston, near Swanage, and on the Army Ranges (about four miles from Corfe Castle); whilst red squirrels still thrive on Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour.
Enid Blyton, the children’s author, was a frequent visitor and the settings of many of her books are based on local landmarks.
There are plenty of walks around this beautiful area to cater for all ages and levels of fitness. Alternatively, hire bicycles locally or bring your own, or book a riding lesson from one of the local stables. Wareham, Poole, Bournemouth, Weymouth, and Dorchester are within easy reach by car.
